    maxon is further expanding its involvement in the sport of professional mountain biking. In addition to sponsoring the “Thömus maxon” elite team, the drive specialist is now sponsoring the junior team of Swiss bicycle manufacturer Thömus.   • maxon showcases five powerful compact drives at SPS 2022

    maxon is launching five new products at the upcoming SPS trade fair in Nuremberg. All products are designed with particularly efficient use of resources and compactness in mind. They include the ECX SPEED 8 motors with pin connection, the integrated ENX 32 MILE encoder for drives from the ECX flat motor series with 32 mm diameter, as well as the powerful IDX 56 and 70 industrial drives. Now there are even more technical solutions available for extremely compact and tight spaces.

    With the new Lightrider E Ultimate, Swiss bicycle manufacturer Thömus is launching the world's first full-suspension cross-country electric mountain bike weighing less than 15 kilograms. This record-breaking weight is made possible by the small and efficient maxon BIKEDRIVE AIR drive in the extremely lightweight Thömus ultra-high modulus carbon frame.

  • Record sales at maxon despite Corona crisis

    maxon reaches a record-breaking year of revenue in 2021. Contributors included, a strong growth in Europe and Asia, numerous new products launched and incoming orders at an all-time high.

    Sachseln, Switzerland. – The maxon Group announces its tremendous revenue gains in 2021. Compared with the previous year, the revenue grew by 13.2% to a new record level of CHF 626.5 million (from CHF 553.5 million in the previous year). In addition, in the current year, the volume of orders in hand is the highest it has ever been in the more than 60 years of the company’s existence.

    The arrival of spring also marks the release of maxon’s 2022/2023 catalog, with 592 pages and the latest in drive technology. One of the highlights? A radiation-resistant GAMA encoder.

  • maxon joins Thömus cross-country team

    Swiss bicycle manufacturer Thömus and drive specialist maxon are entering into a partnership in cross-country cycling. As part of this cooperation, maxon is providing its e-bike platform to Thömus as the basis for an electric mountain bike for World Cup training. They also plan to make this bike available to the retail trade in the future.

  • New members join the management team of the maxon Group

    Stefan Müller has been appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the maxon Group. Previously head of the Mobility Solutions business unit, he will take up his post on January 1, 2022. Also, this summer, Andreas Richter joined the Group's management as Chief Operations Officer (COO).

  • maxon launches light and invisible e-bike system

    First maxon’s drives flew on Mars in the NASA helicopter - now they're letting bike riders lift off. After several years of development, the company presents the BIKEDRIVE Air – a light and invisible e-bike system consisting of a mid-mounted motor, integrated battery, and control element. It can be used to build extremely lightweight racing, gravel, urban, and mountain bikes. The first bicycles made by maxon customers will be introduced to the market this year.
